{"id":81,"date":"2020-07-31T23:18:33","date_gmt":"2020-07-31T21:18:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michely.cluster028.hosting.ovh.net\/?page_id=81"},"modified":"2021-01-17T13:34:05","modified_gmt":"2021-01-17T12:34:05","slug":"le-son","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.michel-marthaler.ch\/index.php\/le-son\/","title":{"rendered":"The Sound"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The sound of a guitarist does not come from the complexity of his equipment but from the subtle blend of his soul, his mind, his heart and his body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0When you get inside the note, you are going to get inside people&rsquo;s hearts and you are going to get their attention!\u00a0\u00bb <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.santana.com\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Santana<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Effects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 80s and 90s, I was working with a huge digital multi effects rack, because I was constantly looking for new sounds and new sensations.<br>However, by adding multi-effects between the guitar and the amplifier, I was losing the direct sound, so the touch of the fingers on the guitar which makes our own sound is distorted and it changes the feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I now prefer simplicity and the stomp boxes, because they more easily allow the possibility of going live with the amp and working in overexposure with that. Whether it&rsquo;s analog or digital stomp boxes or a mix of the two technologies (it&rsquo;s sometimes interesting), the sound is often more natural. Two noiseless Fender pickups in the neck and center as well as a  <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seymourduncan.com\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.seymourduncan.com\" target=\"_blank\">Seymour Duncan<\/a> humbucker in the bridge<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The second one is a quite astonishing \u00ab&nbsp;Classic Vibe&nbsp;\u00bb and still based on the model of the 80&rsquo;s. It is equipped with three Fender noiseless pickups.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Acoustic Guitars<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For acoustic parts, I usually play with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> the enchanting \u00ab&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ovationguitars.com\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ovationguitars.com\" target=\"_blank\">Ovation Country Artist<\/a>&nbsp;\u00bb with nylon strings<\/li><li> a \u00ab&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.simonandpatrick.com\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/www.simonandpatrick.com\" target=\"_blank\">Simon and Patrick<\/a>&nbsp;\u00bb with steel strings<\/li><li>last but not least, I also play a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.martinguitar.com\" target=\"_blank\">Martin<\/a> with steel strings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Amplifiers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I played a lot when I started out on a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.roland.com\/global\/products\/jc-120\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.roland.com\/global\/products\/jc-120\/\" target=\"_blank\">Roland Jazz Chorus<\/a>. I then switched to a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/shop.fender.com\/en-FR\/guitar-amplifiers\/vintage-pro-tube\/65-twin-reverb\/0217360000.html\" target=\"_blank\">Fender Twin Reverb<\/a>.
